Elizabeth (Beth) Hamm is a director of BetterInvesting and has served as the board’s interim chairman as well as the Nominations and Succession chair. Elizabeth (Beth) Hamm is a Director of NAIC's BetterInvesting and has served as Nominations and Succession chair. She is the daughter of founding trustee George A. Nicholson Jr., who developed the BetterInvesting principles and the Stock Selection Guide. Beth, following in her father's footsteps, developed and implemented a Model Investment Club format, which has been used by others in the BetterInvesting community. Using this model, Beth piloted a student investment club (The Traveling Investment Club) at East Grand Rapids High School, which took students and teachers beyond the hypothetical stock market game. Beth also has authored a column for BetterInvesting Magazine entitled "Not For Women Only," and has taught all aspects of the Stock Selection Guide through college programs, community education classes and Chapter seminars. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Michigan.
Beth founded and is a member of two BetterInvesting investment clubs. She is also the founding director of the Western Michigan Chapter, where she has served as education chair, vice president and president. She served as the program chair of the Great Lakes BetterInvesting Regional Conference in 2005. Beth, born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Mich., is married to Dr. David D. Hamm, a physician in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has three grown sons. She is an avid tennis player.
