Shawn Roberts is currently the Director of Investor Relations for Total System Services, Inc. (TSYS) in Columbus, Georgia. TSYS is recognized as the market leader in providing electronic payment services to financial institutions and companies around the globe. In this position, Shawn is responsible for all communications with institutional and retail investors and rating agencies regarding TSYS’ financial status. He is also responsible for developing and producing the annual TSYS analyst day, which is used to help communicate the financial status to institutional analysts who have coverage of TSYS.
From 1997 through 2005, Mr. Roberts was the Director of Investor Relations for Aflac Incorporated. Mr. Roberts worked with Aflac for eight years speaking on the company’s financial progress to retail investors in the United States, Canada, and Japan. He was instrumental in developing the company’s investor relations website. He was also responsible for teaching a quarterly investment class to all Aflac employees, and developing the Stock Option Educations classes for employees.
Prior to his position with Aflac, Shawn worked for four years as the Associate Director of Investor Relations for Synovus Financial Corporation. Synovus was the parent company of TSYS until December 2007 when TSYS spun-off into its own company.
Mr. Roberts earned an undergraduate degree in secondary education from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. He taught history, economics, and geography, and served as the varsity golf coach for two years at Shaw High School before pursuing a career in investor relations.
