KC Chapter 2013 Spring Investor Edcuation Workshop
The Kansas City Chapter of BetterInvesting will present an Investor Education Workshop on April 20, 2013 at KU Edwards Campus, Regnier Hall 153, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Workshop will provide information to assist investors in making investment decisions in the current market and in longer term planning. The program will feature Doug Gerlach, President of ICLUBcentral Inc.
Door prizes will include one six-month subscription to Manifest Investing ($200 value). This website provides valuable resources for finding and researching stocks, managing a portfolio, and obtaining timely information on investing. Another door prize will be STB Prospector ($69.99 value), ICLUB’s software screening tool for locating great stocks for potential investment. Other door prizes include one six-month membership in BetterInvesting ($40 value) and two BetterInvesting handbooks ($20 value).
Cost for the Workshop will be $35.00 for BI members and $40.00 for non-members. Registration at the door will be $45.00. A box lunch will be provided. Members will receive the discount by including the digits after the hyphen on the BetterInvesting Magazine label.
Douglas Gerlach, President of ICLUBcentral Inc., will address topics of interest to all investors at the Workshop. ICLUBcentral produces programs for fundamental stock analysis and screening, including
Toolkit 6, Stock Analyst, Stock Investment Guide, Stock Prospector and Take Stock. Gerlach is the author of six financial books, including The Investor’s Web Guide, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Online Investing, The Armchair Millionaire, Investment Clubs for Dummies, BetterInvesting’s Guide to Computerized Investing and the Internet, and The Pocket Idiot’s Guide to Direct Stock Investing. Four topics will be addressed:

Using these tools, you can search for stocks that meet your criteria, thereby finding reasonable candidates for study with the Stock Selection Guide SSG. Learn how to use these sites, including building your personal search criteria, and you will always have a collection of potentially hot stocks at your fingertips, just a point and click away.
3. Considering Free Cash Flow in
ICLUBcentral’s Toolkit 6 software allows investors to visually analyze historical free cash flows to enhance their analysis of any company. A steady, consistent generation of free cash flow is a highly favorable investment quality … so make sure to look for a company that shows steady and growing free cash flow numbers. In addition, investors can compare the free cash flow growth to the trend of pre-tax profit and earnings per share growth to identify possible weaknesses in the company’s financial strength.
4. Identifying Excellence in Company Management
