Georgia Governor Issues Commendation to BetterInvesting

   
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., May 13, 2009 - On April 28 Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue issued a letter of commendation to BetterInvesting as association volunteers prepared to host this year’s BetterInvesting National Convention June 25-28 in Atlanta. Georgia residents Julie Werner, member of the NAIC/ BetterInvesting board of directors, and Larry Reno, president of the BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board, participated in the event. Whereas: BetterInvesting is a nonprofit organization that has led the nation in investment education and the organization of investment clubs since 1951. The group helps promote an understanding of the importance of investment, ownership and responsibility in our community; and
   
Whereas: BetterInvesting is dedicated to helping individuals take control of their financial futures and promoting the importance of investing and investment education; and
   
Whereas: Nationally, there are almost 100,000 BetterInvesting members, and there are over 2,500 members and 200 clubs in Georgia. Georgia companies Coca-Cola, Southern Company and Total System Services are corporate partners that support BetterInvesting in its mission to create a nation of educated investors; and
   
Whereas: BetterInvesting is committed to promoting and encouraging financial security and smart investing in the state of Georgia and the nation, and has selected Atlanta as the location of its annual National Convention on June 25–28, 2009; now
   
Therefore: I, Sonny Perdue, Governor of the state of Georgia, do hereby thank and commend BetterInvesting.
