Webinar Description

-------------------------------------------------------

The series starts January 9 with a discussion of company conference calls. Like analysts, BetterInvestors can also create a model of future company performance using the Stock Selection Guide. The Preferred Procedure is the SSG built in application tool that allows users to model future growth using information from our research. In conference calls, company management discussion regarding performance and guidance regarding future revenues plus questions from analysts provide insight to assist you with preferred procedure decisions.

In February Morningstar is the focus of our research. Morningstar analysts determine the quality and fair value of a company. We will look at the proprietary metrics used by Morningstar’s award winning analysts to compare with our stock studies and understand what their Fair Value Estimate means and better understand the management of our study company. We will discuss star rankings, moats, trends, and stewardship. The analyst report is a wealth of information and is updated any time conditions warrant. A favorite section is the “Bulls Say/Bears Say” to discuss the pros and cons of owning the stock. This is a good place to look for investment information. Morningstar’s website has a free version, premium version and library version available for the individual investor.

In March we move to Value Line. Value Line is one of the most popular sources used by BI members. Learn what info is important, where to find it and how to use it. We will discuss the various parts of Value Line and some important screening tools to use.

Many valuable online resources beyond Morningstar and Value Line are a click away on the internet. In April we will examine some of the best of these looking for financial information and investment data to bolster our judgments. Historical data, analyst reports, projections, opinion – there is much to sort through and evaluate.

Taking a break during May for BINC in Chicago, we conclude our series in June. We will put it all together in a practical application while completing an SSG. See just how research can change judgments and evaluation of the company’s future as an investment.
