Description

We are the North Carolina Triad Model Investment Club.  We are sponsored by the North Carolina Chapter of BetterInvesting™.  Our mission is to help educate interested parties about the stock market and BetterInvesting™ clubs.  We use an internet communication tool called GoToMeeting™ to “broadcast” our investment club’s monthly meetings.  Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings.

The following club members are scheduled to present this meeting’s segments:
Educational Segment:  Rodney Shepherd
Stock Study Segment:  Ethel Whitt

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, our investment club meetings were held in one of the Triad’s (Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem) public libraries.  We started using GoToMeeting™ in 2013 to “broadcast” our live meetings.  COVID-19 taught us how much easier it is to hold our monthly club meetings from the safety and comfort of our homes.  Despite the obvious convenience of GoToMeeting™, several of our club members would like to hold occasional “face-to-face” meetings again.  Perhaps two or three times a year would be sufficient?  This issue is still being discussed.

Our meetings are usually held the first Tuesday of every month except for holidays.  We begin our meetings at 5:45 PM and they generally end a little before 8:00 PM.  Our typical meetings contain the following segments:  1) Welcome Visitors, 2) Secretary’s Minutes, 3) Treasurer’s Report, 4) Educational Segment, 5) Stock Study, 6) Stock Watchers’ Comments, 7) Buy and/or Sell Decisions, 8) New and/or Old Business, and 9) Meeting Adjournment.

We are long term investors.  We use a fundamental analysis methodology to identify publicly traded companies that grow their revenues and earnings per share at a reasonable rate.  We believe well managed companies with a modest debt and sustainable growth rates should produce favorable investment returns.

Thank You,
Ron Cox, Volunteer
