Model Investment Club
The North Texas Chapter sponsors two "model" stock investment clubs.Both clubs are working investment partnerships that invest member's payments using the principles and stock study tools used by BetterInvesting for over 50 years. As model clubs, our goal is to help you learn to invest in stocks and to demonstrate how an investment club works. Meetings in both clubs are open to anyone who is interested in attending and learning.
North Texas Model Investment Club
The North Texas Model Investment Club meets online on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM until noon. Every meeting includes education on an investment topic, review of the club portfolio, presentation of a stock to study, and buy/sell decisions. Select the meeting on the local events page for the date of the meeting you would like to attend.The Club's website has links to the club portfolio, membership information, and the club's Partnership Agreement and By-Laws. You can also email the club for more information on meeting time and location.
Lone Star Online Investment Club
The Lone Star Online Investment Club is an online model club that meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month. Members and visitors use their internet connection to participate in the meetings.The club is an investing partnership that makes actual investments using the principles established and proven by BetterInvesting for over 50 years. As a model club, our goal is to help you learn to invest in stocks and to demonstrate how an investment club works.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about investing in a club is welcome to register and visit a meeting. Residents of Texas who are BetterInvesting members can join the club after visiting a few times.

Club Dashboard
Both model clubs use a Google spreadsheet as a "dashboard" to monitor stocks in the club portfolios. The spreadsheets have links to Google Finance which updates stock prices during the day. All of the club members have "edit" privilege for the spreadsheet and update the PAR, U/D ratio, and Stock Selection Recommendation for the stocks they follow before each club meeting.If you would like to look at a demonstration of the spreadsheet, here is a link.
