Kevin Gillogly
Inspired by the Beardstown Ladies and the NAIC Manual, Kevin joined BetterInvesting in 2001 and soon immersed himself in teaching and leadership. A longtime director in the DC Regional Chapter and SSG instructor, he founded two investment clubs and co-created the “Digging Into BI” webinar. His guiding belief: “If one teaches, two learn.”
Allen Holdsworth
A 30-year BetterInvesting member and longtime club participant, Allen brings decades of teaching and volunteer leadership experience to investor education. He has taught at 12 BINCs, served 12 years on the BIVA Board, and received the 2024 Ken Jancke Lifetime Achievement Award. A University of Illinois graduate, he lives in Western Illinois and enjoys model trains and magic.
Craig Johnson
A seasoned market technician and investment strategist, Craig Johnson serves as managing director and chief market technician at Piper Sandler, leading the firm’s technical research. A frequent CNBC contributor, he holds CFA and CMT designations, earned degrees from Drake University, and has served as president of the CMT Association while currently leading the Technical Analysis Education Foundation.

A longtime BetterInvesting volunteer and investment club founder, Susanne has supported investor education since joining BI in 1996. She serves as a Director for the Online Chapter and Vice President of Membership, and co-created the “Beyond Beginner” course. She holds degrees in Applied Mathematics and Finance and enjoys tennis, bridge, and art education.
Joan Loken
A longtime BetterInvesting member, Joan joined BI in the early 1990s and has pursued disciplined study of faster-growing companies through initiatives such as the RMC Chapter’s Small Talk and model club. Applying BI methodology to small- and mid-cap and high-P/E stocks, she emphasizes deep research and critical analysis to seek market-beating results.
Cy Lynch
A longtime BetterInvesting educator, Cy joined his first investment club in 1984 and has served in numerous chapter and national volunteer roles, including Vice-Chair of the BetterInvesting Board. He writes the “Growth Stock Outlook” column, holds degrees in economics, law, and divinity, and pastors a church in metro Atlanta.
John Moses
A senior leader in the SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy, John Moses focuses on investor outreach and education. He previously served in the Office of the Chairman and the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, is a U.S. Navy veteran, and holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard Business School.
Christi Powell
A longtime BetterInvesting leader and educator, Christi has served the Oklahoma Chapter in multiple roles and teaches regularly at BINC and chapter events nationwide. A CFP® and recipient of the Dick Dwyer Service Award, she owns Falcon Financial of Oklahoma and specializes in retirement and estate planning. She helped develop the BINC Retirement Track and serves on the Central Oklahoma FPA board.
Miles Putnam
A Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Provident Investment Management, Miles Putnam, CFA, specializes in healthcare equity analysis and has also covered consumer discretionary and technology sectors. He has written for Investor Advisory Service, Dividend Informer, and BetterInvesting Magazine, and is frequently quoted in the financial press.
Kathleen Richards
A longtime BetterInvesting volunteer and award-winning educator, Kathleen has served the Northeast Ohio Chapter for over 20 years and received the Tom O’Hara Award for national service. She has appeared on Spectrum News and contributed to USA Today and MSN, and is deeply committed to youth education through programs such as “The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg.”
Dave Roberts
A BetterInvesting member and President of the Prairie Investment Partnership, Dave Roberts brings a data-driven approach to investing after a 35-year career in biochemistry and protein crystallography. He now applies his analytical expertise to building Google Sheets dashboards that help investors track and improve portfolio performance.

Charles Rotblut

Matt Spielman
A lifetime BetterInvesting member, Matt has served as a Director of the Houston Chapter since 2021 and currently holds the roles of Vice President for Club Development and President of the Houston Model Club. A 24-year individual stock investor, he retired in 2020 after a 27-year career in engineering and IT and now enjoys exploring Texas and the U.S.
Carole Theine
A director of BetterInvesting’s Puget Sound Chapter and a BIVA volunteer, Carol brings a strong commitment to financial literacy shaped by a career in technology and training. A former Microsoft support professional and law firm computer trainer, she now teaches investing classes, visits clubs, and manages her own portfolio.
Robin Ware
A longtime BetterInvesting volunteer, Robin serves the North Florida Chapter and chairs Volunteer Training for the BIVA Board. A member since 1997 and founder of two investment clubs, she teaches BI tools and SSGPlus courses, presents nationally, and previously led large-scale training programs during a 38-year career with the U.S. Postal Service.
Betsy Wills
A former securities and corporate attorney, Betsy spent over 40 years in roles including trial attorney with the SEC, general counsel to a national brokerage firm, and adjunct professor of securities law. She has represented IPO issuers and defrauded investors, and founded an investment club in 1999.
Robert Wynn
A national leader in financial education and community economic development, Robert Wynn is founder and president of CLIMB USA, promoting investment education through innovative Community Based Investment Enterprises. A former BetterInvesting board member and Wisconsin Financial Education Officer, he has launched statewide programs and received the George Nicholson Award.
