How do we determine the top 3 peers displayed with the company under study?

The Top 3 Peers shown in the Online Stock Tools (CoreSSG and SSGPlus) are selected to help you compare the company under study with other companies of similar type and size within the same industry.

How the peer group is formed:

  • Each company is classified by industry and by company size (Small, Medium, or Large).

  • The peer group includes all other companies in the same industry and size category as the company under study.

How the top 3 peers are selected:

  1. For each company in the peer group, the 10-year Earnings Per Share (EPS) growth rate is calculated.

  2. The peer companies are then ranked in descending order based on their EPS growth rate.

  3. The three companies with the highest EPS growth rates become the “Top 3 Peers.”

These same three peers are displayed consistently throughout all pages of the study in both CoreSSG and SSGPlus. This consistent set of peers makes it easier to compare company performance and quality metrics against others in the same industry and of similar size.
