The DC Regional Chapter of BetterInvesting™ is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) (educational) organization serving the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland.  We have been active for more than 40 years, with over 1700 members and more than 200 investment clubs in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.   The chapter consists of two Model Investment Clubs. 

  1. Model Investment Club of Northern Virginia (MicNova) 
  2. Montgomery County Model Club (MCMC) 
Our mission is to encourage direct ownership of common stocks  using proven fundamental stock investing principles and state-of-the-art stock selection tools.  We strive to provide sound investment information, education and support in order to create knowledgeable and successful lifetime investors. 


Our chapter offers a range of services that include:

• Investment Education Workshops: Learn the fundamentals of stock investing, how to identify growth companies, how to determine when to buy, hold or sell a company’s stock, how to manage a portfolio of stocks, and proven investment strategies.

• Member and Club Support Groups: Connect with fellow investors and share insights and learn  during  our monthly club meetings

• Digging into the BI Magazine: We host this very popular monthly webinar.  This event is open to BetterInvesting™ members and the general public to evaluate the investment quality of specific stocks.

• Club Visits: The Chapter encourages Club visits.  A club visit can be requested and scheduled by sending an email to president@dc.betterinvesting.net.   Your club decides what topics would be most helpful to make your club experience a success.
