Sometimes we believe we are already familiar with something and fail to fully realize its potential to help us.
In this session, David Lenig and Marcia Couey are going to revisit an old friend and make a new friend too.
David will examine the Value Line one-page pdf report and help us become reacquainted with using it for screening as well as with information used for the Stock Selection Guide (SSG).
Marcia will help us become friends with Value Line 2.0, the online Value Line website. We will improve our analysis and company/industry selection as we discover a tool that is hidden in plain sight.
David Lenig is a retired petroleum engineer from BP Exploration (Alaska). He has been enjoying retirement with his wife, Amelia, spending the summers in Alaska and winters in Texas. David is the current treasurer and former president of BetterInvesting's Alaska Chapter for whom he has been a director since 2007. In the past David has volunteered for Junior Achievement as a high school class business consultant and for Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Merit Badge Counselor.
He has also been the treasurer and portfolio manager for a stock investment club. He is also treasurer and board member for an endowment fund which supplies grants for worthy causes in his Alaskan neighborhood communities.
Marcia Couey has been a member of BetterInvesting since 2001. She is the President of the Portland Chapter, a Director for the Golden West Chapter, and a Partner/Co-founder of the Orange County Model Investment Club. She teaches an Intro to SSG class at Southern Oregon University for OLLI.
In her professional career, she was a self-employed contract technical writer for more than 30 companies -- from small startups to large companies such as Cisco Systems, Xerox, Baxter International, Hughes Aircraft Company, and the LAPD.
